Exercise Material

The exercise

Arie has learned that Sinterklaas is very busy and he could use some help. The children do need to show that they have what it takes, so they must perform the exercises below in free space.

  • Walk like St. Nicholas. Can you wave as well as St. Nicholas? (waving)
  • Pretend you are carrying a very heavy bag of presents. First with one present, then with two, and how heavy is the bag with up to ten presents? (walking and sinking through knees)
  • Walk like a Pete on the roof. Very gently, or else everyone will wake up! (tiptoeing)
  • Oh dear, Pete is in a hurry. There are still lots of shoes to be filled and it’s already getting light. Can you run as fast as Pete? (running through space)
  • Sinterklaas is on his horse, how does Ozosnel walk? And can Ozosnel also gallop, try that! (hopping)
  • How would Pete go through that narrow chimney? Demonstrate! (through a hoop, for example)
  • And you might as well be wrapping presents like Pete (pretending to cut and paste)
  • Do the children themselves know of any important assignments?
