The organization
All children and the game leader sit on a dot in the circle.
The child standing outside the circle gets to hold Arie the Monkey.

Note the size of the circle.
Large circle = lots of running, small circle = less running

The exercise
All children sit in a circle on a dot.
Outside the circle one child walks
(A).
He/she gently taps all the children he passes on the head, saying the word ‘banana’ each time.
After several times child A suddenly says ‘Arie!’ Child A runs away and the child who is tapped
(B) with ‘Arie’ jumps up and tries to tap child A.
Child A has to run a full circle until he/she reaches child B’s dot.
If he/she succeeds without being tapped, child B may run around the circle next and gently tap all children on their heads.
