Activity 1
Dribble and Pass
Instructional video
Organization
The children are divided into groups of 3 and face each other. The ball starts at the 2-team.
Points of interest
- Dribbling: Push the ball down, do not hit
- Dribbling: Bounce height: next to your hip
- Passing: the ball is held by the ‘ears’ with the elbows to the side
- Passing: take a step forward when you pass
Exercise
- High dribble: you dribble (run upright) to your buddy across the street and pass the ball. This is called the fast dribble. Perform this exercise with both hands.
- Bounce pass: you pass the ball to your buddy across the street via a bounce on the ground. You run after the ball and close behind.
- Low dribble: you dribble (low to the ground, lots of ball contact) to your buddy on the opposite side and pass the ball. With this dribble, you have a lot of control over the ball. Perform this exercise with both hands.
- Chestpass: you pass the ball to your buddy on the opposite side, you push the ball from chest height toward your buddy’s chest height. You run after your ball and close behind.
- Dribble and pass: you run up to the pawn in the middle with a high dribble, then dribble “low” around it, then pass the ball to your buddy with a chest or bounce pass. You run after your ball and close behind. You try to execute the dribble with both hands.

Instructional video
Organization
The children are divided into 4 groups.
Points of interest
- Dribbling: Push the ball down, do not hit
- Dribbling: Bounce height: next to your hip
- Shooting/scoring: using 1 hand as the steering hand, with the hand at the side of the ball
- Shooting/scoring: 1 hand as a pushing hand, with the hand under the ball to push the ball from below (arm like a gooseneck)
Exercise
The children move in power form from the starting position to the shooting position. One of the children stands with a hoop in the hands like a live basket in front of the body. This one is allowed to move slightly with the ball.
- Scoring after a dribble | you dribble to the shooting position then shoot into the hoop | execute with both hands.
- Scoring after a slalom | you dribble around the pawns to the shooting position then shoot into the hoop | perform with both hands.
- Scoring after a one-two punch | you pass the ball to your buddy and move on to the shooting position. There you get the ball back and try to score in the basket
- 2 vs. 1 | The two attackers are going to try to outplay the defender and score in the basket. The defender is going to try to prevent the scoring.

- No physical contact
- Ball may not be taken from hands or hit.

Exercise
Two teams compete against each other. From both teams, 2 players stand in the scoring boxes, they hold the hoop and form the goal for their team. So each team can score on 2 goals. After a certain time (e.g. 2 minutes), the players from the scoring box switch with a fellow player from the field. The game leader guides the game according to the rules of the game.
